Angus SEN Procurement Skills Accelerator – 18th, 25th August and 1st September
Collaboration, procurement and accessing tenders is something our members told us they are keen to learn more about.  We have organised, with P4P (Partnership for Procurement) to bring you the this programme.    The course consists of 3 x 2.5 hour zoom sessions, spread over a period of 3 weeks.

Sessions are as follows 
•     Introduction to Procurement and Collaboration (Tuesday 18th August, 10:00 – 12:30 am) – an on-line zoom session that covers the size and scale of the public sector procurement market, why it is worth investing your time and effort to become procurement ready, getting to grips with procurement language and understanding why and how you might collaborate to bid.  This interactive and informative session is a fantastic introduction to public sector procurement.

•    Quick Quotes, Quick Wins (Tuesday 25th of August, 10:00 – 12:30 am) – an interactive on-line zoom session that covers what a quick quote is, how to become visible to buyers for quick quote opportunities how to set up and make the most of your Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) registration, Supplier Finder Profiles and more.  A really practical session aimed at helping you become visible to public sector buyers for lower value contracts.  

•    Finding Opportunities & Engaging with Buyers (Tuesday 1st of September, 10:00 – 12:30 am) – an on-line zoom session covering how to analyse information within PCS to find potential opportunities for your social enterprise, how to establish in a structure way if you should bid or not. The session also covers why and how you should engage with buyers.  A really informative proactive training session equipping you with the skills to find and assess relevant public sector procurement opportunities for your social enterprise.

By the end of the sessions your social enterprise will be more knowledgeable and skilled in both finding and taking advantage of public sector procurement opportunities as well as understanding the power of collaboration.  Whilst each session covers different topics, it is recommended that you attend all 3 sessions to ensure maximum benefit.  

Although the course is aimed at organisations who have little or no experience of procurement or tendering, the Finding Opportunities & Engaging with Buyers session would also be of benefit to those with experience and that session will be opened up to more organisations and will be able to be booked separately.

An Introduction to the basics of Evaluation Training – Wednesday 9th September 
Another area our members have expressed an interest receiving training in is impact measurement and reporting on the work carried out in an impactful way.   We have been working with Evaluation Support Scotland and we are offering a tailored training session open to our members.

This 3-hour introductory session will help you get to grips with the basics of evaluation.
Along with fellow members of Angus Social Enterprise Network, you will gain an understanding of the different stages of the Evaluation Pathway (below). The session will get you thinking about how to embed evaluation within your practice so that it’s not a burdensome ‘added extra’ come reporting time.

This is an ideal session to take part in before our Showcase, event at the end of September, to help you think about telling your stories and demonstrate the impact of your work! The sessions are limited to a maximum of 10 places.  Sessions take place on Wednesday 9th September at 14:00 and last 2.5 hours.  To find out more please email admin@angussen.org.uk.  Booking information will be sent out shortly.
